Greetings

Hello, and thank you so much for visiting Le Modish! Getting the store ready for launch has been such an exciting journey; I can’t wait to begin using it to serve you! As a matter of course, my first blog entry is an introduction to Le Modish – its origination, its inspiration and its purpose.

Fashion has been a passion of mine since well before college, but it was while attending Florida State University that I began to really appreciate the artistic, social and commercial significance of apparel. I was fascinated by how clothing and dress had influenced both history and culture. Christian Dior’s “New Look”, Yves Saint Laurent’s “Le Smoking” suit and Coco Chanel’s eradication of corsets: These breakthroughs were not just fashion trends, but profound movements that would forever change the status and perception of women in a way that transcended geographic, cultural and political barriers. With each shift in the fashion landscape, newly-created outlets of self-expression would give women the world over the ability to determine for themselves what it meant to be liberated.

Not every creation or design will change the course of history, but, like most art, there is someone who can resonate with the message. It may not be for everyone’s taste or liking, but each new idea creates a way for someone to feel understood. Dress gives people an opportunity to express themselves, feel unique or just feel good.

My love of fashion (which is really just a combination of other things I love – like people, art and self-expression) is what drove my desire to become a functioning part of it. My goal with Le Modish is to find up-and-coming designers who have a unique perspective and bring them to you. I am actively searching for a new take on fashion and mixing it in with some fan favorites. My hope is that you will be able to count on me to always have something exciting and different. I want you to feel special in everything you wear!

I will be looking forward to hearing your thoughts and feedback. Your satisfaction is of utmost importance to me, so please let me know what you like/dislike or what you would like to see more of.
